Thank you to the 18 + Morongo Basin residents that drove all the way to San Bernardino for the Altamira hearing, and the 7 + that took the time from their day to watch from Joshua Tree. The shirts worked out well, thanks Jay. Thanks also, for all the letters that were sent in to the Clerk of the Board in support of the appeal. Unfortunately, things did not "end" today. Ramos and Lovingood voted against the project (for the appeal) and Gonzales, Rutherford, and Hagman voted for the project. Nary a comment or question was raised, nor explanation of their vote. Hagman, did explain his reason at the last hearing: "If I vote against the project, there will never be development"...or something like that. Would like to point out that the majority of the local existing neighborhoods ARE built in a consistent manner with our Community Plan. We, of course, are never allowed to actually engage in a back and forth conversation to point that out. It was very cool on our Supervisor Ramos' part to send out one of his staff members to talk with us in the lobby. What's next....hmmmm? If anyone feels they might like to contribute towards a lawyer, please let me know. It will just be an "interest list" at the moment, so we know what our potential is. janetjohnstn@earthlink.net ( yes, the last "o" is missing). We will be doing some, how shall we say, "creative thinking" and investigation these next few days. Any solid ideas are welcome!!! Thank you emails to Supervisors Ramos and Lovingood, would be a nice gesture.
